Working principle:
Raw grains such as corn, millet, sorghum, and rice are fed into the twin-screw extruder. Friction and pressure from the screw and barrel cook the material, causing gelatinization and protein coagulation. The mixture is pushed through a die, where it is cut by a cutter to the desired shape and length, forming hollow balls, tubes, sticks, stars, or decorative shapes. Controlled low-temperature extrusion ensures nutrition retention, while microorganisms are killed for food safety. Interchangeable molds allow for multiple shapes and thicknesses. The extruded puffed snacks are ready-to-eat and can be flavored as desired.
