Rotary Drum Screen Filter for Wastewater Screening System

The Rotary Drum Screen Filter is an internal feed fine screening system designed for wastewater pretreatment and solid-liquid separation. It removes suspended solids larger than 0.2 mm using a continuously rotating cylindrical screen. Wastewater flows into the drum interior and is evenly distributed across the screen surface for efficient filtration. It is widely used in municipal sewage, industrial wastewater, cooling water, irrigation, and RO pretreatment systems to improve downstream treatment performance and reduce maintenance load.

Rotary Drum Screen Filter Product Introduction

The Rotary Drum Screen Filter is a high efficiency mechanical filtration equipment used for industrial wastewater and domestic sewage pretreatment. It adopts an internal feed design where influent enters the rotating drum and is distributed onto a fine screen surface for solid-liquid separation. The system effectively removes particles larger than 0.2 mm, improving water quality and protecting downstream processes. It is widely applied in municipal wastewater treatment plants, industrial filtration systems, reverse osmosis pretreatment, cooling water circulation, irrigation systems, and process water purification applications.

Working principle

Step 1: Inlet Feeding
Wastewater enters the Rotary Drum Screen Filter through the internal feed inlet and flows into the drum chamber.

Step 2: Flow Distribution
The influent is evenly distributed onto the inner surface of the rotating drum through a distribution weir.

Step 3: Filtration Process
Water passes through the 0.2 mm fine screen openings while suspended solids are retained on the screen surface.

Step 4: Solid Separation
Solid particles accumulate on the drum surface and are continuously lifted as the drum rotates.

Step 5: Discharge & Cleaning
Separated solids are discharged by gravity or mechanical scraping, while filtered water exits for further treatment or reuse.

Step 6: Continuous Operation
The system operates continuously, ensuring stable filtration performance and reduced clogging risk in long-term operation.
